Barbell Club students win the 59th All Japan Student Bodybuilding Championship

On Sunday, September 28, 2025, the Teikyo University Barbell Club participated in the 59th All-Japan Student Bodybuilding Championships, held at Fussa Civic Hall (Fussa City, Tokyo). Akiyoshi Yamada (4th year, Faculty of Liberal Arts Letters) won the 176cm and under physique division, Go Murayama (3rd year, Faculty of Law) placed 7th in the 170cm and under division, and Kotaro Sashida (4th year, Faculty of Economics) placed 9th in the over 176cm division. Yamada also won the overall competition among the winners of each division, achieving his second consecutive overall victory following last year's. The Barbell Club also placed 3rd in the team competition. Satoshi Izumi (3rd year, Faculty of Economics) placed 15th in the bodybuilding division.
Although physique and bodybuilding competitions are classified as individual sports, the members work hard as a team, exchanging information and advice on daily training and nutritional intake methods, encouraging each other as they approach competitions.
