Teikyo University exhibited a booth at SPORTEC2025 held at Tokyo Big Sight (Koto-ku, Tokyo) from July 30 (Wed) to August 1 (Fri), 2025.
At the booth, Junko Atomi (Advanced Comprehensive Research Organization), Junko Atomi (Professor), Miho Shimizu (Associate Professor), and Eri Fujita (Faculty of Medical Technology, Department of Sport and Medical Science, Senior Assistant Professor) presented their research "What is Atomina Health Exercise? ~Poster exhibition of "What is Atemina Health Exercise? These exercises, which are performed in the supine position and designed to be safe even for the elderly, are expected to strengthen core muscles, improve balance, and increase the motor index that supports standing bipedal walking, based on the scientific principle of body-mind unity.
On the first day of the event, Wednesday the 30th, a live cell fluorescence observation demonstration by Nikon Solutions, Inc. and a DNA extraction demonstration by Aya Atomi, a research student in the Atomi Lab at the University's Advanced Comprehensive Research Organization, were held to help visitors deepen their scientific understanding of the cells behind the "Atomina Health Exercise". The booth was constantly visited by people from a wide range of fields, including medical professionals and health equipment manufacturers, who actively exchanged information with Atomi Professor, Shimizu Associate Professor, Fujita Senior Assistant Professor, and other TUAT staff Sports Bureau.
Senior Assistant Professor From Thursday the 31st, a poster exhibition of Keisuke Tsukada's research, "Are changes in finger pinch force an indicator of pitching injury prevention? A poster exhibition was also held at the same time. This is a practical approach to examine the relationship between the number of pitches thrown and finger pinch force for elementary, middle, and high school student pitchers, and to explore the possibility of applying the results to injury prevention. Visitors interested in the prevention of elbow disorders in baseball pitchers came to the exhibition and enthusiastically asked questions and expressed their opinions about the significance of the research and its future prospects.
At the seminar venue, Atomi Professor gave a seminar titled "Learning from Cells: Body-Mind Science to Connect Body and Mind" on Wednesday, March 30. The seminar was attended by a standing-room-only crowd, who listened attentively while taking notes.
Teikyo University will continue to promote sports, enhance academic research and education, and encourage external collaboration and social contributions, with the aim of enhancing the value of university sports and contributing to the development of society through sports.
